What are anti-wrinkle treatments?
Anti-wrinkle injections are a prescription treatment that temporarily relaxes the small muscles responsible for dynamic expression lines, such as the crow’s feet around the eyes and frown lines between the brows. By softening these movements, the overlying lines can appear smoother.
Who it may be suitable for
The treatment may suit adults who wish to soften dynamic lines around the eyes. It is not suitable for everyone — for example during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with certain medical conditions — and suitability is confirmed at consultation.
Your consultation
Miss Paul assesses your facial movement and concerns, reviews your medical history, and discusses realistic, natural-looking outcomes so you know what to expect before treatment.
Your treatment
A small number of injections are placed into the target muscles using a very fine needle. The appointment is usually quick and comfortable.
Aftercare and results
The effect typically begins over several days and develops over about two weeks. Results are temporary — commonly lasting a few months — so maintenance treatments are needed to sustain the effect. You will be given aftercare advice, such as avoiding rubbing the treated area.
Risks and side effects
Possible side effects include temporary redness, small bruises or a mild headache, and, uncommonly, temporary drooping or asymmetry. Miss Paul will discuss these with you beforehand.
